The College Almanac is operated by Auriginal LLC. Questions about this notice or the current site may be sent to contact@auriginal.app.
Information saved in your browser
Saved colleges, family notes, research priorities, application plans, cost estimates, visit plans, athletics research, correction drafts, and other private workspace entries are stored in your browser’s local storage. They are not uploaded by the current planning tools.
Clearing browser data, using a different browser, or changing devices can remove or hide this information. The workspace export creates a local JSON backup that may contain personal planning details. You control where that file is stored and shared.
Calendar and document downloads
Calendar files, printed pages, PDFs created through the browser, and workspace backups are generated on the device. Once downloaded, they are governed by the device, calendar service, cloud drive, or other destination you choose.
Public college data
The site loads public institutional records and reviewed official-source summaries. Searching or viewing a college does not require a profile. Correction drafts remain on the device and are not submitted to Auriginal LLC.
Hosting and technical request data
The College Almanac is configured for deployment through Cloudflare. Cloudflare and other necessary network providers may process basic request information needed to deliver and secure the site, such as IP address, browser type, requested page, timestamps, and security logs. The College Almanac does not currently add advertising trackers, sell family planning data, or create marketing profiles.
External services and links
The interactive map requests map images from OpenStreetMap’s community tile service, which receives the network information needed to deliver those images, including the visitor’s IP address. Links to colleges, government datasets, search results, calendars, and other third-party services leave The College Almanac or request content from another provider. Those services operate under their own privacy practices. A link is not an endorsement of the provider or its conclusions.
Students and sensitive information
Do not place Social Security numbers, payment-card details, medical records, account passwords, or other highly sensitive information in free-text notes. The service is a family research tool and is not designed to collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this notice
Auriginal LLC will update this notice before The College Almanac adds accounts, cloud synchronization, AI processing of family inputs, email services, payments, submitted corrections, advertising, analytics, or other features that materially change how information is handled. The effective date above identifies the current version.
