Informational use
The site does not provide admissions, legal, financial, medical, safety, or investment advice. It does not predict admission, rank personal fit, guarantee aid, or recommend a college. Families remain responsible for decisions and for confirming consequential information with the institution or relevant authority.
Dates and changing policies
Deadlines, testing rules, costs, aid requirements, programs, housing, dining, athletics, transportation, and institutional policies can change. Review dates and source links show when information was checked; a “current” label does not guarantee that a source has not changed since then.
Safety and community context
Clery reports, police data, geographic matches, and calculated rates use different definitions and reporting areas. They cannot measure an individual’s safety or predict future incidents. Local crime information is kept separate from campus reporting, and comparative indexes are withheld when the underlying data do not support them.
Costs, debt, and outcomes
Published price, average net price, family-income bands, debt, completion, and earnings describe defined historical cohorts. They are not a personalized aid offer, financing recommendation, salary forecast, or return-on-investment guarantee. Use each college’s official net-price calculator and financial-aid office for individual planning.
Programs and career paths
Federal program categories and completion records do not establish the current curriculum, capacity, admissions rules, professional preparation, research access, licensing eligibility, or placement of a particular major. Official catalogs, departments, accreditors, and licensing authorities control those facts.
External content and availability
External sites control their own content, availability, accessibility, security, and terms. The College Almanac may link to them for verification but is not responsible for their operation. Public datasets may be revised, suppressed, delayed, or incomplete.
Acceptable use and reuse
Use the site lawfully and do not interfere with its operation, misrepresent its data, bypass technical limits, or imply endorsement by a college or data publisher. Source datasets and institutional content retain their own licenses and terms; the site’s presentation does not grant rights to republish third-party material.
No institutional affiliation
The College Almanac and Auriginal LLC are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of any college, university, government agency, accreditor, ranking publisher, athletic association, or other institution shown or linked on the site.
Governing law
To the extent permitted by applicable law, these terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.
Changes to these terms
Auriginal LLC may update these terms as the service changes. The effective date above identifies the version that applies to the current site.
